ABOUT

Hough & District WI Choir was formed in 2009 as a result of an idea by four WI members and was eventually expanded to include members from other WI’s and some members of the public. In April 2015 Chris Hale took over the role of Choral Director  - they welcome anyone who wants to sing, membership continues to grow, and they have expanded their repertoire to include a wide variety of music. If you want to sing with us, you can be a member of any WI and there are a few non WI member places but we are restricted on these. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at Weston Church Hall, Weston (near Crewe) from 7pm - 9pm term time only. Subs can be paid weekly or there is a discount for paying by the term.

New singers are welcome to join us. Current term dates are 9 January - 27 March 2019.

Every rehearsal begins with relaxation and a fun warm up to get the voice and body ready for singing. We take our music seriously but have a lot of fun doing so, strive for the best we can do and laugh our way through our errors. In fact we have a seriously good time!

We also link up with the Hough & District WI Creative Writing Group and they have provided and performed many thought provoking, poignant, and downright hilarious poems and anecdotes as part of our concerts. If you want to find out more about them, visit their page here
